Gulf Coast Division The annual meeting of the membership was called to order at 8:00 AM by Chairman Louise Lepie at the Texas A&M University Student Recreation Center, the venue for the divisional qualifying tournament ("Divisionals") for Summer Nationals. At the time the meeting was convened, no other Officers had entered the room. Notes were taken on behalf of the Secretary. The assembly was aware that, although the Bylaws specified that new officers should be elected and qualified, by direction of the USFA this would not occur. Minutes of no previous meetings were read. It was noted that the minutes of the April 2002 annual meeting had been implicitly accepted by virtue of their availability since that meeting, with no opposition voiced in any membership meeting since then. However, it was noted that those minutes stated, "August Skopik was nominated unopposed for treasurer, and Andrey Geva was nominated unopposed for secretary." Both eyewitness reports and the offices in which they actually served indicated the reverse. Without objection, the accepted minutes of the April 2002 meeting were amended to reverse "treasurer" and "secretary" in these two sentences. It was noted that the Executive Committee had announced a contest to select a logo to represent the Division, with the winning design to be selected by popular vote at the meeting. The popular vote was not held because no logo designs had been submitted by the entry deadline. There were no other reports, or business to be entertained, which the assembly wished to address. By general consensus, the meeting adjourned at 8:03 AM.
