Gulf Coast Division After extensive preliminary discussions, the meeting was called to order at 8:27 PM by Chairman Louise Lepie at the Houston Athletic Fencing Center at 4997 West Bellfort, Houston. Other Officers present were Vice Chairman John Trojanowski, Secretary Matt Delevoryas, and Treasurer Dennis Meyers. Division member Nicole Trojanowski was present. Although the required 48 hours notice of the meeting was not given to all members, all members waived the required notice by attending the meeting, where no member attended the meeting for the express purpose of objecting to the transaction of business because the meeting is not lawfully called or convened. The assembly noted that the Rose Condon Memorial Fencing Tournament was scheduled for February 26-27, and also Katy Blades had scheduled a tournament for the same dates, originally a youth tournament but more recently changed to have D and under open events with non-USFA youth competitions. There were concerns being expressed in the Southwest Section about the possibility that this violated the Southwest Section Circuit Cup Operations Manual, with ongoing debate both about whether this was a violation and about whether the Gulf Coast Division itself might receive some penalty for the tournament scheduled opposite an SSCC tournament. The assembly was quite concerned about the situation, but noted that there was reason to believe that the whole situation would become clearer very shortly, during the Feb. 18-21 Junior Olympic Championships. Matt Delevoryas moved that when the meeting would adjourn, it would adjourn to meet Tuesday, February 22nd, 2005 at 7:30 PM at the Houston Athletic Fencing Center. The motion passed. Dennis Meyers moved to adjourn. The motion passed. The meeting adjourned at 8:29 PM.
